Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in North Carolina
I rent a room and can pay my rent by the week, i signed a room rental agreement that states i must stay a minimum of 3 months, the agreement says "This is not a public motel". It says no pets and i brought in a 3 pound chihuahua while my aunt was in the hospital. The landlord brought another guy at 6AM and got up in my face and physically demanded i get to moving today. I really honestly thought the guy was gonna swing at me. I just want to know do i have to get out today or can i have at least a week to go. Im not trying to get over on anyone but i dont have anywhere at all to go.-Chris

He has to go to court to evict you...he can't physically remove you. But that doesn't mean he won't try.
If he does physically remove you or padlock you out, you need to get an attorney to sue for your damages.
