Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in North Carolina

My renter in Charlotte,nc wrote me two checks to cover late/back rent. Ask me to hold til a certain date, then stopped payment on them when I went to the bank to deposit them. I live in Kansas and have just came to NC to figure out what I can do, if anything. What forms would I need in charlotte to file with the court, if any?

I would probably hire an attorney if i were you. If you were local, you could take care of it yourself but it might be cheaper to hire an attorney. You need to file an ejectment action in small claims court in Mecklenberg. Look up small claims court procedures in Mecklenberg online.
