Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in North Carolina
As a renter, do we have the right to have copies of any written complanits that have been made against us? As far as I know there has only been one person who has complained but I have never recieved a written/formal copy of a complaint.
If we feel like we have been harassed how can we go about filing charges against our landlord?

Unfortunately, no you most likely do not have a right to such complaints. You have a right to them if your lease requires you to get copies. Your landlord may not even require complaints to be in writting.
As for harrasment, you will need more than the landlord indicating that you are bothering another tenant. You need criminal harrasment, which means he is acting outside his dutys as a landlord and is constantly badgering you about non related items and is otherwise makign you uncomfortable. If this is the case, you need to contact the police.
