Legal Question in Legal Ethics in North Carolina

Halifax County NC Police Not Doing there Duty and Harrassment

I am in college in Greensboro, NC and I am from Hertford County. On my visits home to see my family, I must pass through a town called Littleton in Halifax County.I have been pulled over and harrassed twice on the same stretch of highway for rediculous reasons. One incident, myself and bestfriend were riding with her cousin from Hertford County back to Greensboro when he and I got into a fight and he hit me and pushed me into a ditch leaving myself and friend on the side of the road miles from home.We had to walk to the nearest house to use the phone because he took my keys and cell phone. It took the police over an hour and a half to get us.We could have been in danger. Also when the police finally came, he took us to Roanoke Rapids and just dropped us off to walk the streets and helped none at all.We eventually found the police station in that town and they told us that there is nothing they can do and we cannot stay at the station. One of the officers even called the guy who left us by calling my cell phone and told him to come back to get us and left us in the street once again.Police are supposed to protect and serve, but I have never been protected or served. There are many important details and reasons that go with the situation

They are supposed to protect and serve. Unfortunately, we usually do not have any "rights" in that sort of situation. That's terrible.
