Insurance settlement

I was recently involved in an auto accident. I had to be transported by the EMS to the hospital where I underwent tests by xray and MRI. Fortunately I only had to have stitches around the eye area. These stitches will leave permanent facial scars. What would be a ball park figure to ask for compensation for mental and physical pain and suffering and permanent facial scarring.

The reasonable settlement amount depends on the extent of past and future pain and suffering, which is not clear from the inquiry. If one assumes only "soft tissue" injuries, and the stitches, then I would surmise the medical expenses plus $1,000. If your injuries are greater or worse, the amount would go up or down. You should consult a lawyer if you may have significant injuries.
