Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in North Carolina

Misdiagnoed Neuroblastoma

Our son was transfered from the doctor to hospital #1 and after 8 days of testing, they found nothing other than ''enlarged lymph nodes''. After ruling out cancer and anything life threatening we breathed a sigh of relief. We were released with no medicine and told he would be fine on his own. Seeing our sons symptoms only getting worse, my husband and I were not confident in the doctor or her diagnosis and decided to seek a second opinion. The second hospital did the same scans (CT scan, MRI, LP..everything) but this time wanted to do surgery on the lymph nodes. After results came back, he has neuroblastoma with OMS- a childhood cancer. He is currently on daily steroids and is going through chemotherapy. Our oncologist now said his symptoms would not have progressed the way they did had we found this earlier. I have written to the board of medicine and the hopsital but would like to take this furhter if I can. Any advice?

Re: Misdiagnosed Neuroblastoma

This is not a case that can be answered with a simple response on the internet. I recommend that you contact a law firm that specializes in medical malpractice. They will meet with you, review the med recs, and determine whether the standard of care was breached and whether it is worth taking on. Feel free to email me privately, and I will be glad to refer you to a good med mal firm.
