Upgrade oth usmc discharge

I recieved an oth discharge in the mid 80s. I was a reservist and my civilian job was a as a police officer. I worked for a small dept. and it was a great hardship on the rest of the dept.when i had to go to drill. I wrote a letter and had the sheriff to write one and sent it to the proper people (I ThinK). I nevertheless recieved oth discharge, Since then I have served honorably as a police officer and have received several commendations for bravery and valor above the call of duty.what are the chances of having the oth upgraded considering the circumstances?
