Legal Question in Personal Injury in North Carolina

i was in an acident that i got the blame for but i dont believe it was entirely my fault. i didnt have insurance and now the other person involved is sueing me. i lost my job and i have no other income. im only 19 and was 18 at the time, i dont know what to do but i have absolutely no money. what should i do?

It is odd that you are being sued if you have no insurance, but they have that right. After you receive the lawsuit papers, you have only thirty (30) days to file a response with the court, and that is where you would assert that the accident was not entirely your fault. They may be simply pursuing their own "uninsured" motorist coverage. Whether they can collect anything from you personally depends on whether you have any collectible assets, such as a car or land. You may want to consult further with a lawyer and provide him or her with more facts. You can try to defend yourself in the lawsuit, but that is usually difficult to do.
