Legal Question in Personal Injury in North Carolina

Car Accident

I was in a car accident in Sept. 2006 and it was an employee of a business in town. Nationwide has admitted fault and i am a agent myself. i have amassed alot of bills but i was told by the dr. i have a torn labrum in my hip which will need to be replaced in the future and i know there is a 3 yr period where i have to file a lawsuit. I've been in alot of pain but i don't want to have my hip replaced at this age (40). I know the larger amount of bills that is how they determine the payout for pain and suffering and loss of work, etc. What should i do i have until Sept. of this yr to file with the courts. I want Nationwide to pay for my pain and suffering and for the scar i have on my chin as a result of the accident. I haven't hired an attorney yet but how can i get the most out of Nationwide and pay for future operation? Please help!!

Re: Car Accident

In view of those injuries, you probably want to at least consult with an attorney. There are complicated issues of the insurance limits of Nationwide, as well as your own underinsured motorist coverage (if any), and of course there are complex medical issues. You want to maximize you recovery under the law to receive full compensation. It will be difficult for you to receive an adequate settlement in this situation without consulting with an attorney. You can also assemble your medical bills and projected future medical bills, and lost earnings, and make a demand on Nationwide and see what happens.
