Legal Question in Personal Injury in North Carolina
Wrongful death statute of limitations
My mother died last year and we suspect medical malpractice. We live in Massachusetts, so we are wondering what the statute of limitations is for this type of case In North Carolina.

The statute of limitations is basically 3 years. There are some instances where you can get an additional year (based on a "discovery" provision), and there are some exceptions for a continuing course of treatment, but basically it's 3 years.
