Legal Question in Real Estate Law in North Carolina
Active Judgement against owner/property
I am seeking to buy property where the owner has judgements against him/the property. How does the judgement affect my purchase of the property or ability to purchase the property?

I have no idea how you are buying this property or from whom. If you are buying it from the owner, presumably those judgments should be paid at closing. You will take the property subject to those judgments depending on factors like how old they are, who they are against, etc. This is one reason why you would have an attorney do a title search and procure a title insurance policy.
