Legal Question in Real Estate Law in North Carolina

Claims of Lien

I was just notified that a Claim of Lien has been placed on my property in North Carolina. What are my rights to have this lien removed once I pay off the fees? I am not familiar with the Lien laws in North Carlina. Can you help?

Thank you for your help.

Re: Claims of Lien

If you pay it off, it will need to be cancelled. If an attorney filed the lien, contact his/her office and make arrangments to pay it off and request a copy of the cancellation. You could also call the Clerk of Court and see if you can make arrangements to pay it directly into them in order to get it cancelled.
