Legal Question in Real Estate Law in North Carolina
Hoa states I'm in violation for not seeking approval for painting deck. I did not paint the deck. It was painted by previous home owner. I have ouwned home since 07/2009.
What are my options for addressing this?

You need to get evidence that you did not change the deck and that it was changed before you moved in. You should see if you can get written statements from neighbors or other proof that the deck was painted by the previous owner. Then submitt this information to the HOA and demand they back off. If they don't you may have to defend against their action in Court.
