we hold a promissory note and one of us has died, no will, do his children have any claim on the proceeds of the note. the note reads payable to Ray Anderson, Steve Anderson, Cindy Anderson, Denise Brault or the survivor of them

Yes, when a person dies, anything they own passes through their estate...the only exception would be if the document for the note, declared that if one person passed, his interest would go to the other parties.
