Legal Question in Real Estate Law in North Carolina

How do I get my name off a home mortgage I share with an ex-spouse? We do have a claus in the separation agreement that I would not be held responsible. Thank you!

The mortgage company would have to agree to allow you out of the contract. The family law separation agreement will not affect your contractual rights with the lender.
