Legal Question in Real Estate Law in North Carolina
Leasing office has posted 2 notes over the last few weeks on my door to renew my expiring lease at a monthly rate $100 less than what I am currently paying. Seemed odd that my rate would decrease, but I wasn't kicking a gift horse in the mouth. I informed them I would renew and got a call today telling me that the previous letters were drawn up by someone who was new and clueless and the quoted rate was wrong. They offered to keep my rate the same, but that was it.

If you signed the lease with the lower price, you can hold them to it. Mistakes in a contract are construed against the drafter...unless you knew it was a mistake. If they corrected it before you signed, the new terms would control.
