Legal Question in Real Estate Law in North Carolina

Mechanics Lien

A mechanics lien was put on our investment property. The lien was fraudulent; regardless, suit was never brought within time allowed under state law. How can we have the lien removed?

Re: Mechanics Lien

You shouldn't really need to do anything. If suit wasn't brought in the necessary time frame, you should be able to sell the property without a problem. The closing attorney for the Buyer will see the lien and then see that no suit had been brought.
