Legal Question in Real Estate Law in North Carolina

My mother and Father own a piece of property that have my deceased aunt and uncles name still attached to it. Who does the land belong to at this point. My mother and I have paid taxes on it by ourselves for at least 15 years. What is the best route to take to get in in our name.

Unfortunately, we would need to know the chain of title to know who owns it now and how it can be transferred.

Based on your inquiry, it appears that at least your parents owned the home with your aunt and uncle, meaning there were at least 4 owners of the home. An attorney would need to know if your mother and father were married and if your uncle and aunt were married. Then we would need to know if either or both of the deceased had a will. If they did not , did they have any children. We would need to know if those 4 were the only owners.

Unfortunately, as you can see we don't have enough information. You should consult with a real estate attorney to determine the current status of the property and who has the right to transfer title.
