Legal Question in Real Estate Law in North Carolina

My old neighbors had their house foreclosed last year in November. They did not plan well and put a bunch of their things in my garage (taking up half the garage) because they couldn't fit it in their moving truck. They said they would be back in a couple of weeks to get their things. It is now been 3 and 1/2 months and their things are still in my garage. I have been texting back and forth with them since the begining of the year setting up date after date for them to come and get their things only to have them tell me a day or two before that they aren't coming because of one excuse after the other. I live in NC and they moved back to DE. What can I do to get my garage back?

Send them a certified letter that they have "x" amount of time to get their belonging or you are donating them to a charity of your choosing such as Salvation Army or Goodwill.

I recommend giving them at least 3 weeks just so there is no argument that the time you gave was unreasonable. Make sure they know specifically which charity you plan to donate to, including its address.
