Legal Question in Real Estate Law in North Carolina
My parents deeded a property to me three years prior to their passing away, but they did not update their will to reflect this change. Now, a sibling is saying that the property must be sold and divided equally between the kids. Is this true?

If the home was deeded to you prior to your parents passing, the home was no longer subject to the will and thus did not pass through it...your sibling is incorrect. Your sibling only has a claim if they can show that you used undue influence or fraud to get your parents to deed the home to you.
