Legal Question in Real Estate Law in North Carolina

Power of Attorney

I reside in FL but will sell my home in NC in August. I need to appoint a power of attorney to my brother-in-law so he can sign the documents in my absence. Do I need a FL or NC power of attorney? Can I sign one on my own and have it notarized, or must an attorney complete the power of attorney papers?

Re: Power of Attorney

You would be well served to ask a NC attorney to prepare one for you. You would want to make sure the closing attorney approves the language in the power of attorney.
