Legal Question in Real Estate Law in North Carolina

I purchased a mobile home 5 years ago with just a bill of sale my husband and I are currently trying to trade it in for a new double wide. We call the mobile home dealership about the title and get told it was salvage I call the inspector and he ran the vin to find out the title is not salvage it is in someone elses name and the title has a lien against what can my husband and I do about getting the title clear so we can trade it in?
