Legal Question in Real Estate Law in North Carolina

Selling Home

The buyers of my my home would like to move in before the closing date and pay rent until their closing date (3 weeks). My wife and myself are in agreement with this arrangement, but my real estate brokers said that this would not be possible due to insurance reasons being that he is the broker. Please confirm whether this is correct or not. My family is just trying to assist the new family with an out of state move and get their children in school on time (8/25)

Re: Selling Home

Not sure I understand the question but there is typically a buyer possession before closing addendum that can be signed for these types of situations. If it is insurance issue, speak with your insurance agent. I think typically your responsible for maintaining insurance on the property through closing - you'd have to read the addendum carefully.
