Legal Question in Real Estate Law in North Carolina

Got served with foreclosure order

I am in a desperate need!!!. I have hired a lawyer back in July 2009 who was supposed to help me out to do a loan modification on my mortgage. He only called me from time to time and lied on numerous times. I was just served with a foreclosure order and have less than 10 days to move out of our house. This could have been avoided 6 months ago when I provided him with a check to take care of it. Is there anything I can do, I want to keep my house, why, what do I do? Please help. Kindly, Best Father

Type in NC foreclosure help on google and find the link for the state sponsored Foreclosure Prevention Project - see if they can help you.

I don't know your facts but you can also file a complaint with the NC Bar against the lawyer and you can also look into filing a malpractice claim (but would probably need to find an attorney to assis you with that).
