Legal Question in Real Estate Law in North Carolina

Can you sue a realty firm?

Can you sue a real estate agent's firm if the agent representing you acts unethically?

I received an offer to purchase on a house that my wife and I were trying to sell. The realtor I was under contract with was friends with the person offering to purchase my house. He talked her out of going through with the sale and she withdrew the contract. He was supposed to be representing me! I have not been able to sell the house since because of the recession. Do I have any grounds to sue the real estate company for my loss of profits from the sale?

Thank you for your advice.
