Swimming pool regulations

If I buy an above ground swimming pool am I legally obliged to put a fence around it?

You very well may be. Start by checking with your county government (maybe Inspection Department, Planning, Zoning, etc.). Also, please be sure you read your contract with the pool company carefully. Read every clause and make sure you understand it. For instance, sometimes you are the one responsible for obtaining a permit.
