Legal Question in Real Estate Law in North Carolina
My wife and I owned a piece of properity in Mississippi. Our part was 1/41. The properity was sold, and we were paid $10,000, but we owed $40,000. Nobody contacted us about the differeance of $30,000. The bank release the lien to the new owner and $10,000 was aplied to our account even though the check was to be signed by us and the bank. We did not sign the check. How can they release the lien. What do we do?

If you don't own the property why are you concerned about the lien (on the property) getting released?
You still owe the bank $30,000? Or do you owe the new owner the $30,000?
