Legal Question in Tax Law in North Carolina
i have some unpaid taxes and now that i am receiving my ss disability they are garnishing my checks.... is there anything i could do to stop this?

You need to thank former President Clinton who pushed to allow the IRS to levy against your Social Security checks. The IRS can take 15% of the check. Many times this is less than an Installment Agreement. It is very difficult to negotiate for the IRS to release the levy. You need a good tax lawyer to negotiate with the IRS.
