Legal Question in Traffic Law in North Carolina

89 in a 65

Just earlier today I was pulled over in Alamance county, NC for doing 89 in a 65 on I-40. I've only had my license for about 6 months, with no prior violations, and in that time I've tended to live by the rule of just following the people in front of me, but today there wasn't any traffic in my lane, and well, I got a little carried away I guess. Anyway, all excuses aside, my question is what can I expect when I go to court, and is there any way for me to keep my license.

Thanks

Re: 89 in a 65

You may want to get an attorney in Alamance. I don't think it is the best county to get a ticket. Your best option is a 74 in a 65 which would not have insurance consequences. A PJC also wouldn't have insurance consequences if it is the only one on the HOUSEHOLD policy in 3 years. There are other pleas that would allow you to keep driving but would have insurance consequences. Consult with an attorney in that county.
