Legal Question in Traffic Law in North Carolina
I was arrested for speeding, I got out an hour later with two $500 bonds. This is my first infraction. Can I get my license taken away and if so, how likely is this?
1 Answer from Attorneys
If you were arrested and had bonds (plural) set - I assure you this was not an 'infraction' but rather at the very least a misdemeanor criminal traffic citation and possibly in felony level. Yes, your privilege to drive is likely at risk. Based on your description, I would say highly likely. There is absolutely no question that you need an experienced traffic attorney and be prepared for it to cost a lot. Hopefully you were extremely polite and cooperative with the arresting officer, deputy or trooper. If you were not, it will likely take miracle and/or a crap ton of cash to save your license. Best of luck to you!
