Legal Question in Traffic Law in North Carolina
my daughter's car registration was suspended for lapse in insurance. The officer took the tag when he stopped her. After obtaining insurance, having the car inspected, paying fines and fees..she was issued a new tag in July of 2013' Last night, she was pulled by a police officer who said her tag was expired, even though the registration stated it was good until August 15,2014. The License Plate Agency stated they had made a mistake and she it was only valid until January (the original month of her original tag_ they stated she had to have car reinspected and have car tagged again. This was in Carteret county north Carolina...Is this really the case and if so does she have any recourse against them for all she paid and the incorrect registration being issued?
