Legal Question in Traffic Law in North Carolina
Lady ran a stop light and hit me, but is trying to say I ran a red light and hit her. She is now trying to sue me for $7,000 when she totaled my car but all she needed was a fender. I did not have insurance.. But something doesn't sound right to me. She had a brand new 2017 camaro and I had a 2000 Chevy impala.. She has alot of money and I struggle just to get by. What can I do? I can't afford an attorney..

If you didn't have insurance - you shouldn't have been out on the road. As to her suing you if you have no insurance and no assets - why would you care? She will essentially waste her time and money getting a judgement that will likely have about the same worth as used toilet paper. As to you suing her, you don't need money to hire an attorney for this type of case but you are going to have to get over the problem of the fact that If you didn't have insurance - you shouldn't have been out on the road.
