Legal Question in Traffic Law in North Carolina

Prayer for judgement

I just got back from Iraq 10 days ago. I was late coming into work and got busted for speeding...61 in a 35, it was a busy road, not in a neighborhood. I heard about prayer for judgement is this a viable option or not because I was going 21 mph over the limit? Will the judge have leniency on me bvause I've spent the last 2 out of 3 years in Iraq? What should I do? I normally dont speed, my last speeding ticket was over 9 years ago when I was 16. How can I minimixe the effects of this ticket, fine wise and insurance impact wise?

Re: Prayer for judgement

A PJC is an option that will not result in any points on your license or insurance. You plead guilty as charged and then ask the Judge for a PJC. It is up to the Judge, and whatever criteria the Judge requires as to whether the PJC will be granted. You will definitley need to have a copy of your DMV record to show the Judge. I would advise that you speak with an attorney in your area to see if a PJC is a do-able option for you.

Good Luck!
