Legal Question in Traffic Law in North Carolina
prayer for judgement or 9 over
Someone I know just recieved a ticket going 82 in a 65. This is his first citation and has no points on DL or insurance. Would it be best to get it reduced to 9 over or to get a prayer for judgement. Also how does a Prayer for Judgement work?? Thanks for your response

It depends. I would prefer the 9 over if someone has a clean record b/c you can save the PJC (e.g. stop sign violation). Also, you are only allowed one PJC per policy every three years. A PJC doesn't have any points on your driving record while a 9 over will. But neither would impact your insurance if it is the only one in a three year span.
