Legal Question in Traffic Law in North Carolina

speeding in N.C. With a Jersey Licens

I got a speeding tic in N.C. doing 88 in a 70. The law in N.C. say they can take my licens for that in N.C. but in New Jersey the law says you have to be going 20 over to lose a licens. What would happen in this case?

New Jersey might suspend your New Jersey driving privileges, giving reciprocity to the out of state suspension.

Call me if you like.

Both NC and NJ are signatories to the Interstate Drivers License Compact and a license suspension by a NC court could have a significant impact on your privileges here as well. You should at least talk to an attorney. If youd like, call me for a free consultation.

I don't know the answer as to how NJ would look at it but your best bet will be to hire a NC attorney in the county where you got the ticket. You probably would not have to come to court and you can probably get it reduced to lessen your insurance and points consequences in NJ.
