Depends on how you decide to handle the matter. You clearly need an experienced Traffic Law Attorney. If the PJC was used for a prior traffic ticket - you are fine with regard to the prior ticket. Depending on what county you received this ticket in, an attorney may be able to negotiate a plea arrangement with an Assistant District Attorney that would involve you attending a 4 or 8 hour Driving School. If this is an option in the county you received the ticket in, you may be able to receive a reduction that will at least allow you to keep your drivers license based on your successful completion of the driving school. Expect to get pinched with regard to the fee for this type of case. At almost 40 miles over the speed limit, our firm would charge you a flat rate legal fee of $500 which would not include your court cost or the cost of attending driving school - and our fees are considered low for this type of case.
