Legal Question in Traffic Law in North Carolina
First time traffic ticket going 17 over
I got clocked going 17 over passing a car. This is my first ticket ever. My sister has used a PJC for herself and we live in the same household. I do not believe that I was going that fast and the person that pulled me over was very rude. What should I expect in court, should I get a lawyer, and what should I do?

Re: First time traffic ticket going 17 over
It depends on the County. If you get it reduced to 9 over which is fairly likely, there won't be any insurance consequences since you said this is your first ticket. As you said, you can't get a PJC. Some counties may give you an improper equipment but you'll want to speak with an attorney in that county to find out more.
