wrong info on traffic ticket
i received a speeding ticket in n.c.(70in 55)but the officer wrote down my vehicle license on the ticket wrong,(he put n.j.and the vehicles plate is n.y.)would a written deposition from the officer help? i live in n.y. and don't know if i should drive back to n.c.for the court date or should i just send the ticket back with the fine(125.00)

Clerical errors do not provide grounds for dismissal. You could pay but since this is 15 mph over the speed limit, you may receive insurance points that may increase your insurance premimums for a period of 3 years. You should check this out with your insurance company. If your insurance will increase it may be to your advantage to sign a waiver of appearance and retain an attorney to represent you in NC. He could probably get the speed reduced enough to at least keep the insurance points off and you would not have to drive back down to NC if you did not want to.
