Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in North Carolina
On the AOC-E-202 form, it says "There are/are not insurance, retirement plan, I.R.A, accounts, etc., payable to named beneficiaries. My father did not have a will but I was his sole heir and have already received the life insurance money. Do I check are or are not?

You are looking at part 3 of the form. If you have received life insurance proceeds you would check that there ARE insurance proceeds payable to named beneficiaries.
Why are you seeking to probate an estate? Are there other probate assets? I would suggest that if you find this question confusing, then you may want to hire a probate attorney to assist you with probate of your father's estate. At the very least, you should pay to have a consult with a probate attorney as to the role/duties of an administrator, to see what probate assets exist, to pay an just debts of your father's estate and provide for the orderly transfer of assets to yourself or other heirs, if any.
