Can you buy a motorhome from an unsettled estate before it gets to the point of haveing an auction?

Yes ... but there are a lot more questions. Has the mobile home been appraised? What does the will say? Does it mandate an auction or give the personal representative discretion? Is the personal representative willing to sell?
