Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in North Carolina
I have been estranged from my family for 30+ years. My father recently passed away and my sister has been trying to contact me to " notify me legally " of his death. Is this a necessity in Pennsylvania?

Yes. It is necessary. The rules require notice to beneficiaries. Why is this an issue? Just accept the notice. If you do not want to do anything, then do not. If you were left any inheritance under the will, you can disclaim/renounce it if you have no desire to be involved.
