Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in North Carolina

My grandmother died. She had three daughters: Jane, Mary, & Martha. Mary and Martha died. Martha directed everything be left to Mary. Mary died 5 years later. Who is entitled to receive distributions from my grandmothers estate?

It depends on what your grandmother's will said. If she did not have a will and she was not married when she died and she only had three daughters all whom were alive when your grandmother died, then 1/3 goes to each daughter. Martha's share goes to Mary under your facts and Mary's share goes to her heirs.
