Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in North Carolina

mother moving away

my mother lived in nj for 21 years.

I also live in nj and I have been taking care of her for 21 yrs.

my sister who has been away for 40 yrs. came over and persuaded my mother to move with her into an assisted living in north carolina.

her will is 50/50 between me and my sister. I have heard cases of when someone takes someone

and persuades them to change their will. My mom has early stage alzheimers. When my mom moves next month. I will ask my sister to update her will while i am there for n.c.

Is there anything i can put in the will so no further changes can occur

after i return to nj. My mom is 90 yrs old. And always wanted me and

my sister to get half and half

Re: mother moving away

Yes, there is a lot you can do NOW, before she leaves. Some of it will take her cooperation, so you need to move fast.

I have handles two lawsuits where one brother/sister did exactly what you are describing. It is VERY hard to fight the Will after the person dies.
