my partner and I want to own a home together however we both have children from a previous marriage and I will be paying for the home. How do I insure that my children inherit?

You can't own the home together and insure your children inherit. You can insure that the children inherit your half (or percentage of the home) by taking title as tenants in common and making sure you have a will in place leaving your share to your children.

Otherwise, you can just make sure the title is solely in your name and, again, make sure your will reflects your wishes. Also if you and your partner get married at some point, there may be additional issues you will need to consider.
