Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in North Carolina
My sister assigned executorship of our aunts will to our aunts adopted son. Our aunt passed away on 10/27/2010. Based on my sisters knowledge of our aunts will, my sister, as well as other relatives, were named in the will. No one has heard anything. Can we check in NC if the will has been filed with probate and if it is the latest will?

You can check to see if an estate has been opened - go to the estate division in the county where your aunt lived.
