Legal Question in Workers Comp in North Carolina

Back injury

I did not report my back injury the morning that it happend. I tried to finish the day but it got to painful so i had to leave work to go to the doctor. My employer payed for the first visit. Would not reporting it when it happened hurt my case.

It would not necessarily be fatal. Your situation is very common, and can likely be overcome on with additional facts (ie., if it was reported to the employer soon thereafter, the doctor note says you got hurt at work, etc.).

Make sure you file a Form 18 with the NC Industrial Commission ASAP. Also request a Bulletin for more information on how workers' compensation works. You can find a link to the NCIC website, as well as other helpful materials, at our site: ncworkcomp.com.
