Usually, there is not a "company attorney" per say, the employer and insurance carrier will hire an outside firm to represent them in a workers' comp claim. In terms of how closely they work together can depend a lot on the relationship between the parties, how long they've worked together and whether the employer/carrier is comfortable with the attorney taking the reins. You can safely think that they are communicating at least every week or two.
