Legal Question in Workers Comp in North Carolina

Is the company I am contracted to liable?

I drive a truck for a company who contracts to another company. I report for work daily at the ''latter company's address''. While walking into work one morning I fell on an area that is not kept up well. I broke my tailbone and have been out of work for 2 months so far. I am dealing with workers comp. thru my employer but would like to know if the company on whose property I fell would have any liability.

It's possible, depending on the facts. Contributory negligence on your part would be an obvious defense and might bar any right to recovery.

I suggest you get an attorney ASAP in your local area who is experienced in NC Workers' Comp and personal injury law. Statutes of limitation may be running in BOTH potential claims and action on your part will be required.
