Legal Question in Workers Comp in North Carolina

Employer places unnecessary risk on the employee

I was injured on the job in Jan. I slipped and feel on an ice covered parking lot. While I was making a delivery to a local hotel. I had contacted my supervisor earlier that morning, and explained of the dangerous situations. His response was that I would not be able to give 2 hours notice of being out that day. Therefore I would be teminated for not showing up. I want to know is there anything I can do to recover damages for this. My back is injured as a result of this. The doctors say I will more than likely suffer with this pain for the rest of my life. Can I sue my company?

You have rights and responsibilities too numerous to discuss here, including workers' compensation, REDA, ADA, medical payments, ESC and third party claims. Statutes of limitation are running and action must be taken or your rights may be lost.

If you want, I'll be glad to discuss the facts with you at no charge. You can reach me toll free at 1-866-FOR-ATTY or locally in the Raleigh area at 919-856-9000.
