Legal Question in Workers Comp in North Carolina

impairment rating

The average weekly wage for me at the time of my injury was $490.61. I received a permanent partial disability rate on my right leg of 10 percent. Does the amount of $6541.80 sound like a reasonable offer for a settlement?

Re: impairment rating

Hard to tell without more facts. Likely is fair, unless they want you to sign a FINAL settlement agreement waiving all rights under the Act, including medical care, or unless you have yet to return to work. You also can request a second opinion on the size of the rating with a physician of your choice. Also, make sure they have calculated your AWW correctly.

See NCIC website/Bulletin for more info, or call an experienced attorney. You can link to Industrial Commission from our links page at ncworkcomp.com.
